A reel session needs more than a quiet room and a good microphone. It needs an environment where you can make detailed acting choices, repeat them consistently and hear clear feedback without worrying about the technical process.
The Leyton studio is used for private, appointment-based sessions. Preparation happens before the recording date so that studio time can focus on performance, adjustment and capturing the strongest material. The final edit, sound design and mastering are completed after the session.
What happens before you arrive.
After you book or enquire, Robert discusses your experience, casting strengths and target work. The scripts and shape of the reel are then planned before the recording date. You receive practical information about the session and the exact studio address once arrangements are confirmed.
What happens in the room.
Each piece is recorded with live direction. Rather than asking for abstract changes such as “more energy,” the work focuses on listener, intention, stakes, thought and rhythm. This helps performances stay believable while still giving the final reel useful contrast and pace.
The studio process is suitable for first-time voice artists as well as experienced actors updating or expanding an existing portfolio. You do not need to manage the recording technology yourself during an in-person session.
Remote voice reel production.
Clients outside London can work remotely when they have, or can arrange, a suitable recording setup. The free Resource Library includes a home recording workshop, equipment guidance and practical handouts. Remote sessions still include live direction and professional post-production.
When your home setup is not yet ready, an external studio can sometimes be coordinated locally, with Robert directing the session remotely. The best option depends on your package, location and technical setup.
